Walls - Gregors room

I helped to do the walls in Gregors room. First we painted the walls dark black and browns. I dabbed the paintbrush on the wall to give an uneven look, next we dabbed on a dark green colour. We then painted on big thick bits of the dark green paint and splattered on yellow paint over some parts of the green paint. Then we put sawdust over lumpy green paint and this gave a really good mold effect. The next day Henry saw it and told us we couldn't wallpaper over sawdust because it wouldn't stick so the sawdust had to be bushed off.

The room was then wallpapered by other members of the group. Then the wall paper was ripped and brown paint was painted on around where the rips and holes where.

I then gave the wallpaper a brown wash, which was just brown paint on a sponge and dipped in water. This gave the wallpaper an aged look to it. Next we mixed strips of tissue paper with PVA glue and brown paint and stuck the strips to the parts of the walls where the wallpaper had been ripped off. This gave the walls a disgusting moldy look.

The walls is this room show the aging and neglect of Gregor and his room, so over time his room started to decay with rotting wall paper and extreme mold. Also the ripped wall paper shows his frustration of the situation he is in. The walls look horrible and make it look like something horrifying and disgusting was living in the room and by the way Gregors family treated him this is what they fought of him.
