living room - wallpapering

Now that we have got all the flats up we can start decorating the rooms.
Today I helped to wallpaper the living room. We did this by matching up where the pattern will meet on the wallpaper and cutting the paper to about 8 ft. Then we brushed paste onto the wall and smoothed the wallpaper downwards and outward to stick the wallpaper to the surface and to smooth out the air bubbles. Then we did the same process for the rest of the wallpaper making sure that the edges meet and the patterns are all lined up neatly. We didn't have enough wallpaper to cover all the walls so we had to go out and by more wallpaper. When we got to the last part of the walls left to cover we only had scraps of wall paper, so we stuck on one bit of wall paper which covered half the wall and then we matched up the pattern to another piece of wallpaper and cut both the pieces and then lined them up and stuck the second piece of wall paper to the wall. Also we used a stanley knife to cut off the excess wall paper.
